How It Works
HOW TO PLAY GUESS THE NUMBER
01
CHOOSE YOUR RANGE
Pick your battlefield — 1–10 for a quick warmup, 1–100 for the classic, 1–1,000 for a real challenge, or 1–10,000 for expert play. The Daily Challenge locks everyone at 1–1,000 for a level global competition.
02
FOLLOW THE SIGNALS
After each guess, the game tells you exactly which direction to go. Use the signal to cut the remaining search space in half every single time — the binary search algorithm in action.
🔼 BIGGER — Your guess is too low. Go higher.🔽 SMALLER — Your guess is too high. Go lower.
03
ACHIEVE MATHEMATICAL PERFECTION
Always guess the exact midpoint of your remaining range. Perfect play always takes the minimum steps below. Speed breaks ties on the Daily leaderboard — so think fast and guess precisely.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Every Daily Challenge resets at midnight UTC. The secret number is mathematically generated from the calendar date — so every player on Earth gets the exact same target on the same day. No server required; it's a deterministic algorithm seeded by the date string, ensuring completely fair global competition.
Rankings sort first by fewest steps. If two players tie on steps, the tie-breaker is total elapsed time — from first guess to the correct answer. A faster solve at equal steps always wins. This rewards both logical precision and mental speed.
All personal data — streaks, games played, win rate, daily progress — is stored entirely in your browser via localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server. Your data lives on your device. Clearing browser site data will reset your stats.
Your exact progress is saved after every guess. Return later the same UTC day and your session resumes exactly where you left off — full guess history and step count intact. You cannot start fresh for a better score; the one-attempt rule is strictly enforced by your local storage.
Duo mode is same-device competitive play. Player 2 secretly enters a number, Player 1 guesses it. Roles reverse for Round 2. Fewer steps wins. Equal steps? Faster time wins. No internet required.
